About Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month:
May marks the official celebration of Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) heritage month in the US.
While May is certainly not the only time to learn about and support Asian Americans, it does provide a great chance to discover the history of the different cultures of AAPI people and the contributions they've made to American society.
How to educate yourself or others about AAPI history and culture?
There are many resources to start with:

The National Park Service also spotlights places and stories https://www.nps.gov/subjects/aapiheritage/index.htm
The National Education Association
The Anti-Defamation League (ADL)
PBS offers a large collection of AAPI stories and educational resources,
including Asian Americans, a five-episode film documentary series.

How to celebrate AAPI this year?
The month is not just about ordering takeout from your favorite Asian restaurant.
It's about checking in on your and our AAPI friends and making sure they know you and we support them after the rise in hate crimes this past year. It's also about educating ourselves in learning AAPI’s history, celebrating AAPI’s accomplishments, and their contributions in American history.
Come to see CAAN’s Pop-up Dance on Saturday, 5/7/22, noon -12:30 PM at Bicentennial Park’s Carillon area, and join the celebration.
