Chinese New Year of Ox is on February 12, 2021. In this CAAN’s “Culture & Art Making” series, we tell the story of the Year, 年Nian, and explain why Chinese people wear red clothes, decorate their houses with red couplets, or red decorations, and set off firecrackers during the Chinese New Year season. In this video we also demonstrate an easy paper cutting to make a Chinese New Year decoration in red.
CAAN (Chinese Arts Alliance of Nashville) is also hosting a free online event to celebrate the coming New Year of the Ox on 2/13/2021 from 1 to 3 PM. For more information and free registration, check out the CAAN’s website at www.ChineseArtsAlliance.org.
We are grateful for the support from the Metro Nashville Arts Commission, the TN Arts Commission, the public and you!
Happy Chinese New Year of the Ox!
恭喜發財,牛年吉祥,新年快樂,歲歲平安!
