Chinese Arts Alliance of Nashville is teaming up with many partners to host the Chinese New Year @ Hillsboro Village at the Vanderbilt University's Corner Park at 21st Ave and Blakemore Ave. NOTE: The event venue has moved to Vanderbilt University’s Recreation Center’s Aux Gym. There will be professional jugglers, Nashville Public Library's Puppet Truck, Chinese dance, music & songs, Chinese Yo-Yo, Chinese naming, arts & crafts for children, bamboo dance, Chinese language students’ presentations in addition to the traditional Chinese lion dance and dragon dance.
This year is special year of the Mouse.
Chinese Arts Alliance is presenting "MOUSE BRIDE" story telling with puppets and dance. Don't miss it!
We encouraged you wear red or dress up in Chinese costumes to celebrate the very cheerful New Year! We also hold a “Mouse Pageant” contest . This is a free event, open to the public of all ages. Dragon Parade around the village will conclude the celebration starting at 2:50 PM. We will use the mouse masks that we made at the Arts/Crafts workshop, and percussive instruments accompany our 60-foot long dragon making cheerful noise and bring blessings to everyone! Asian food vendors will be there too!
