AAPI Heritage Month Celebration Series in May


AAPI (national Asian American and Pacific Islander) Heritage Month occurs in May annually.  Its goal is to bring the awareness and recognize the contributions and impacts of Asian Americans and Pacific Islander Americans to the history, culture, and achievements of the United States.

Chinese Arts Alliance of Nashville (CAAN) is hosting a series of  free arts and culture activities to promote the awareness, understanding, and appreciation of Asian arts and culture for the communities.  We welcome everyone to join us.  The places that we plan to conduct these activities are libraries, community centers, senior centers and Nashville parks.

This series of AAPI Heritage Month activities are listed below:

*5/1/24    10:30 - 11:30 AM Wed.              Metro Nashville Library (downtown)

                      “Puppet Story Telling: MOUSE BRIDE”

 

*5/4/24    10 – 11 AM   Sat.                      Shelby Bottom Nature Center

                      “Taichi Workshop”  registration is required

 

*5/8/24   4-5:30 PM   Wed.                       Sevier Park Community Center

                      “Dragon Paper Arts/Crafts Workshop for kids”

 

*5/18/24  10 -11:30 AM   Sat.                Shelby Bottom Nature Center

                      “Creative Floral Arrangement Workshop” free registration is required

 

*5/22/24  12:15 -1:15 PM  Wed.   FiftyForward at Madison Station

                      “Kungfu Tea Making Demo”   free registration is required

In addition, CAAN also brings programs to the following events during the AAPI Heritage Month in May:

                      “Chinese Dance Presentation”  ticket is required
